PROPERTIES & FEATURES
Bendability:
  • MONGIA STEEL ES POWER TMT Rebars have excellent bendability due to the unique micro-structure.
  • The bars can be bent to the exact angle desired by the design around mandrels unlike ordinary rebars and is much smaller in diameter than what is specified in IS: 1786, which is a genuine advantage.

Cost Effective:

  • MONGIA STEEL ES Power TMT Rebars fe600 require 15-20% less usage than ordinary Bars for same work with 5% more cost.
  • This results in an overall saving of 10 -15%.

Earthquake Resistance:

  • MONGIA STEEL ES Power TMT Rebars have high fatigue resistance to dynamic/seismic loads due to its higher ductility.
  • This makes MONGIA STEEL ES Power TMT Rebars most suitable for use in earthquake prone areas.

Weldability:

  • MONGIA STEEL ES Power TMT Rebars with carbon content less than 0.25% can be used for butt and other weld joints without reduction in strength at the joints.

High Bonding Strength:

  • MONGIA STEEL ES Power TMT Rebars with their uniform and precise rib pattern ensure better bonding strength with concrete.
  • This gives higher strength to the structure and hence a longer life.
PROCESS

Thermo Mechanically Treated (TMT) Steel Rebars go through a computerized controlled process of hardening and cooling to give it a unique double strength. The hot rolled bars are rapidly cooled by a special water spray system. During rolling the temperature of the bar is recorded at the time of entry into the mill till the finishing stand, which ensures rolling at optimum and controlled temperatures.

Atmospheric Cooling- This takes place on the automatic cooling bed where the austenitic core is transformed into a ductile ferrite-pearlite structure. Thus the final structure consists of an optimum combination of a strong outer layer(tempered martensite) with a ductile core(ferrite-pearlite). This gives MONGIA STEEL ES POWER rebars its unique combination of higher strength & ductility.
