PROPERTIES & FEATURES

Bendability:

  • MONGIA STEEL ES POWER TMT Rebars have excellent bendability due to the unique micro-structure.
  • The bars can be bent to the exact angle desired by the design around mandrels unlike ordinary rebars and is much smaller in diameter than what is specified in IS: 1786, which is a genuine advantage.

PROCESS

Thermo Mechanically Treated (TMT) Steel Rebars go through a computerized controlled process of hardening and cooling to give it a unique double strength. The hot rolled bars are rapidly cooled by a special water spray system. During rolling the temperature of the bar is recorded at the time of entry into the mill till the finishing stand, which ensures rolling at optimum and controlled temperatures.

Atmospheric Cooling- This takes place on the automatic cooling bed where the austenitic core is transformed into a ductile ferrite-pearlite structure. Thus the final structure consists of an optimum combination of a strong outer layer(tempered martensite) with a ductile core(ferrite-pearlite). This gives MONGIA STEEL ES POWER rebars its unique combination of higher strength & ductility.

BILLETS

BILLETS are semi-finished casting products which are second-stage product of steel production. Mongia produces high grade Billets (C25HMn) which are highly ductile & soft and are produced in a square cross-section of area less than 36 sq.inches (230 sq. cm).

Continuous casting technology is currently the primary method in production of steel billets using superior quality of inhouse sponge iron. The primary and secondary cooling must ensure the continuous casting of steel without strand breakouts and other interruptions with an acceptable level of external and internal defects.

The process involves strict vigillence for the temperature field, the thickness of the solidified shell, the metallurgical length, the porosity and the risk of hot tears and cracks to ensure better product

Billets can be supplied in the unground, fully ground, spot/corner ground, peeled, or turned condition.

TUBES

Tubes are long, hollow pipes that are used for a variety of purposes. Mongia manufacture tubes of different sizes and quality mentioned below. In process, strips of sheets are rolled into a circular crosssection and welding is done to take a shape of tubes.

The quality check are in place and necessary precaution are taken to avoid surface cracking, surface mechanical bumps and thick surface oxide layer deposition.
